Reflections on the Greensboro Lunch Counter
This video explores the legacy of the Greensboro Lunch Counter sit‑ins, one of the most defining acts of non‑violent resistance during the Civil Rights Movement. On February 1, 1960, four Black college students from North Carolina A&T sat down at a segregated Woolworth’s lunch counter and refused to leave after being denied service. Their courage inspired hundreds of students, churches, and community members to join a six‑month protest that ultimately led to the counter’s desegregation on July 25, 1960.
